St. Gabriel's Hospital, Namitete / Malawi

General Information

St. Gabriel’s Hospital is situated in Namitete, approximately 60 km away from Malawi’s capital Lilongwe.
The hospital enjoys a good reputation thanks to its motivated personnel and staff consisting of Sisters, Doctors and Volunteers.
With the assistance of the ZithaSisters and their financial support as well as its partners, the hospital has evolved from a little bush hospital to a well-established hospital that still requires financial support.

Mission and Values

St. Gabriel's Hospital operates on a non-for-profit basis and is governed on the basis of ethical values applied by the Catholic Church.

Its mission is to support the poor and the needy through high quality services in a transparent and accountable manner.

Core Services

The hospitals capacity has now reached 250 beds. In general it serves 250.000 people living in and around Namitete.

Support

Even if the services or treatments offered seem extraordinarily high in terms of African standards, they still cannot be compared to European standards. While means are very limited, expenses are fairly high at the same time.
Our current project is the renewal and extension of the patient kitchen at St. Gabriel’s Hospital.
